Who gets the master cabin?

You and your friends selected to charter a private mega yacht and you all have decided to take a luxurious yacht vacation in the Caribbean. Before the vacation begins it will be very important to answer to this very important question:

"Who get to stay in the master cabin while on the super yacht charter"?

This question invariably comes up when a party of 5 couples gets together to pay for a private luxury power boat, like to the British Virgin Islands. 

Naturally, each couple would like to share the costs equally, but often there are significant differences between the cabin sizes and amenities. The master cabin cannot be more different than single cabins, double cabins, California king and queen sized beds.

Why do they not make all the cabins equal just to make our life easy? This same issue is true for Mediterranean power yachts, Greece power yachts all over the world. See detail below.

Guests simply need to work out any which way they feel suites their party. Some draw straws for their cabins, some pay more and some couples pay less for their cabins, whatever works for your party is the right thing to do. So before your best experience of your lives, work out between each other who is about to have which cabin.

When private yachts are ordered the owner gives his requirements to what he wants to have on board his vessel. Remember you are renting a very wealthy person's water toy and it is for the new owner for whom the yacht is being manufactured.
 

Here are the instructions usually given to the yacht manufacturers:

- We want a large cabin for ourselves the full width of the yacht plus, a his and hers bathroom with a tub and heated floor.

Master Cabin

- The master cabin needs a large walk in cupboard for clothes a study and a small area in the master cabin where my wife can put on and take off her make-up.

Master Bath

 - We want a VIP Queen sized cabin for our pals:

- Two cabins that have 2 single beds inside with one cabin for our two children and the other cabin is for 2 body guards, or a nanny..

Twins for Kids, Body Guards or Nanny

Our industry is set up of different owners who dictate what price they want for each one charter week period and how many times each year they want their Crewed mega yacht to charter. There are no companies in our industry who have 10 - 150 foot power boats for rental that is just too much money sitting idol.

We do get asked to find equal cabin yachts and there are some of them out there, but very few and far between.

Greek Yacht Charters - A Few Ideas and Motor Yacht Suggestions

We have been chartering yachts for 20 years and have been working in Greece since 1999 and we attend the annual boat show every year to meet the captain and chef teams as well as to take pictures of all cabins and amenities on board.

The prime booking months in Greece are July & August and sure the Meltemi can blow during those months but it is not as frequent as you read. In 18 years of booking Greek charters we have only had 2 different groups be affected by the Meltemi. This is a very low probability and they were affected in September and June when it is supposed to be safer.

Every year I have visited the wonderful Greek people and in Greece I have never seen rain, never experienced windy conditions... just wonderful sunshine. You are going in July or August they are the top months for yacht chartering in the Mediterranean, so go and enjoy the weather. The dock master only stops all boats from going out to sea during or just prior any Meltemi, which means you have to spend 2 or 3 days at the same town. This is very unusual as less than 10% of charter clients are affected. July and August also have prime rates as they are the better months to be there. All vessels below are based in Athens where all charters commence and end there.
